The essence of the character is a reflection on both humanity as the individual and society as a whole. I love the diversity within people, the vast variety of personality and physicality, and this is exactly what I find myself drawn to in my work. I love to take the mess that is humankind and to find a way to reflect it within the characters I design and the stories I tell. I aim to use my characters as a mirror to humanity’s diversity not only in appearance but in personality as well. One belief I hold strongly to is the complete rejection of the idea of things being black and white. The idea of anything in life being easy to sort into those simple boxes is one I have always found myself refusing to accept. Life, and the humanity within it, exists in all shades of gray. People are messy and thus- The characters I work with will be as well.
